The Nearby Places feature lets you list points of interest close to your home — universities, train stations, shopping centres, parks, and so on — with the distance and approximate travel time. This is one of the most useful things you can add for guests who are new to Pittsburgh.
How to add a nearby place
- Log in and click Dashboard at the top of any page.
- In the Public Listing section, click Nearby Places.
- Click Add Nearby Place.
- Enter the place name, distance, travel time, and travel mode (walking or car).
- Save the entry.
Repeat for each place you want to add. You can reorder entries using the up and down arrows, and edit or delete them at any time.
What to include
The most useful nearby places for guests are:
- The nearest train station and approximate walk or drive time
- Universities or TAFE colleges within a reasonable commute
- The nearest supermarket or shopping centre
- The nearest bus or tram stop
- Proximity to the Pittsburgh CBD
Tip: Guests searching for accommodation often filter by proximity to a specific suburb or university. A well-populated Nearby Places section helps them immediately see whether your location works for their commute — and increases the chance they will get in touch.
